McPHERSON, Kan. (macbulldogs.com) --- The McPherson College softball team takes center stage at Bulldog Park this weekend, playing their inaugural games at the College's new baseball/softball complex. The Bulldogs welcome Baker University to town Sunday for a nonconference doubleheader beginning at
1:00 p.m. (NOTE TIME CHANGE)
The complex is located at 936 South Centennial Drive in southeast McPherson, directly south of the Kansas Municipal Utilities complex (2090 East Avenue A) and adjacent to the city's Bremeyer Dog Park.
Festivities begin at
12:45 p.m. with a ceremonial first pitch featuring Bulldog softball alumna and current assistant coach
Kim (Taylor) Romero '05, representing the 2003 squad that went 18-13 overall and tied for the KCAC title with a 10-4 mark.
The McPherson College Department of Athletics will be grilling out, serving hot dogs and bratwurst free of charge to those in attendance.
McPherson is 4-4 after splitting a four-game series at Oklahoma Panhandle State University last weekend. Baker is 4-0 but has not played since opening the season at the Cowtown Classic Feb. 9-10.
A NOTE REGARDING SEATING: Bleacher seating for the complex is limited, so spectators are asked to bring their lawn chairs!
