Salina, Kan. – The McPherson College women's soccer team's season came to an end on Saturday with a 3-0 loss in the quarterfinals of the KCAC Conference Tournament to the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes.

The Bulldogs hung tough with the 3rd seeded Coyotes through the opening 45 minutes. The Bulldogs conceded an early goal in the 7th minute of the game, but from there played solid the rest of the way. In the first meeting between these two programs, the Coyotes also won 3-0 with all three goals coming on set pieces. In the second half on Saturday, the Coyotes put the game away with a pair of goals, both coming on dead ball plays.

The Bulldogs had six total shots and three shots on goal, while the Coyotes peppered the goal area 21 times, and put eight of them on frame. Christie Silber (Jr. Simi Valley, Calif.), the Bulldog's all-time saves leader, was in goal again for the Bulldogs, and added five more saves to her career total.

"Tonight was a physical game with Kansas Wesleyan", said Bulldog head coach Mark Olson. "We were able to compete well during the first half but two great corner kicks in the second half put the game away for them.  I am very proud of this team and group of seniors."

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 4-11-3 overall, and 4-8-3 in KCAC games. They were picked to finish 12th at the start of the season, but proved everyone wrong and finished in 6th. They will lose five players to graduation of this year's squad, but will have nine starters returning, so the future looks good for the Bulldog women.
