Bullogs Open 2021 With Road Win at Friends

Wichita, Kan. – The McPherson College women's basketball team opened up 2021 with a 78-60 win, on the road at Friends University.

Brittany Roberts (Sr. Mansfield, Texas) gave a dominating performance recording her 10th double double with 21 points and 25 rebounds, setting a new single game rebounding record. She is now just three rebounds away from 1000.

The Bulldogs nearly led from wire to wire. They trailed the Falcons just once, early on in the first quarter 8-5. They had a five point lead at the end of the first, 17-12, and they maintained that advantage in the second quarter to lead at the break 32-27.

The Bulldogs pulled away in the third frame, outscoring the Falcons 25-12. The fourth quarter was dead even, 21-21, giving the Bulldogs an 18 point victory.

The Bulldogs forced the Falcons into 24 turnovers, and turned those miscues into 20 points.

With the win, the Bulldogs are now 8-3 on the season overall, and 5-3 in KCAC play. They will get a big test on Saturday when the undefeated Sterling College Warriors come to town for a mid-afternoon matchup. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 pm following the JV women's game at 12:30.
