Wichita, Kan. – Playing shorthanded for the second game in a row, the Bulldogs fell on the road to the Friends University Falcons 4-1.

The Bulldogs opened the game strong, frustrating the home side early in the match. However in the 17th minute the Falcons got on the board on a nice shot from the top of the 18 yard box. That goal would be the only score of the first half, and the Bulldogs felt good about their performance heading into halftime.

In the second half, the Falcons were the fresher team, creating more chances at net than the Bulldogs. The Falcons would score three goals in the frame, two of the three coming off of set pieces, and all three coming in a seven minute span. When the dust settled the Bulldogs found themselves in a 4-0 hole.

The highlight of the night came in the 57th minute. The Bulldogs were awarded a corner kick, and on the ensuing kick, the Falcons were unable to clear the ball. It bounced around a few times before finding the foot of (Sr.) Hannah McKay. Normally a wing defender, on this night Coach Olson moved her up top on the flank. On the corner kick she found herself at the right place at the right time, and she scored the first goal of her collegiate career.

"Congratulations to one of our seniors, Hannah McKay, with her first career goal today." commented Coach Olson.  "I thought we played well in the first half. We were able to keep possession a little and move the ball around. As the game moved forward we just ran out of gas playing with limited players. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when we will have all of our players back."

The 4-1 loss to the Falcons, leaves the Bulldogs at 3-5-1 overall, and 2-5-1 in KCAC play. They will be back on the pitch on Saturday for Senior Day, hosting the Southwestern College Moundbuilders at 12:30 pm.
