Salina, Kan. – The McPherson College women's basketball team dropped to 1-1 in KCAC play on Saturday with a loss, on the road, to the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes 69-57.
From an offensive standpoint, the Bulldogs shot the ball well in periods in the odd quarters, but struggled in the evens. They trailed the Coyotes 17-14 after the first quarter and 31-27 at the halftime intermission.
The Bulldogs continued to score the ball on the regular out of the break, but struggled to get stops on the defensive end of the floor. The Coyotes extended their halftime lead to six points at the end of the third, 51-45. The MC ladies opened the fourth quarter with a scoring drought and the Coyotes took advantage, extending their lead to double digits midway through the period. The Bulldogs never recovered, losing by a 12 point margin.

The Bulldogs were unable to capitalize on 22 turnovers by the Coyotes, scoring only six points off of those miscues.

The Bulldogs shot 28% from the floor for the game, and 23% from beyond the three point arc.
They had one of their best nights from the free throw line, making 13 of 18 attempts.
Four Bulldogs scored in double figures.
MC won the turnover battle 14-22, but were outrebounded by the Coyotes 53-36.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 4-2 on the year and 1-1 in KCAC play. They will be back on the hard wood next Tuesday, hosting the Avila University Eagles at 5:00 pm.
