Wichita, Kan. – Just a few days removed from coming back from a 16 point deficit and defeating nationally ranked Bethel College, the McPherson College men's basketball had one of those games on Thursday when nothing went their way, and they fell on the road to Friends University 97-61.
The Bulldogs' basket had a lid on it all night and in the opening half they found the bottom of the bucket just ten times, while everything the Falcons threw up seemed to go in. The Bulldogs wound up down 19 points at the break, 48-29.
It didn't get much better for the Bulldogs in the second half. They made just 12 baskets, two of them from deep, while the Falcons continued to poor it on. By the midpoint of the half, the writing was on the wall, and Coach Eskildsen decided to empty his bench, and get his reserves some quality minutes.Â
Key Statistic
Shooting was the key to the game. The Bulldogs shot just 29% from the floor for the game while the Falcons knocked down 60% of their attempts.
