Bulldogs Fall on the Road to Friends

Wichita, Kan. – After back to back wins, the McPherson College women's basketball team suffered a setback on Thursday evening, losing on the road, 78-71 to the Friends University Falcons.

The Bulldogs trailed after one quarter of play, 20-18, but came out in the second quarter and out-scored the Falcons 24-19 to take the lead into halftime 42-39. The Bulldog offense stayed in the locker room after the break, allowing the Falcons to seize control. The Falcons out-scored the Bulldogs 15-8 in the third quarter to retake the lead 54-50.

In the final period, the Bulldogs couldn't find a way to get back over the hump. The Falcons extended their lead by winning the final 10 minutes 24-21, completing the seven point victory.

Key Statistic

The difference in the game came down to shooting. The Bulldogs were 27 of 74 from the floor for 36% while the Falcons were 33 of 62 for 53%.

By the Numbers

From beyond the three point line, the Bulldogs shot 36% making 9 of their 25 attempts.

At the charity stripe they were made 8 of 10.

Three Bulldogs scored in double figures, led by Maison Moseley who led all scorers in the game with 17 points.

Brittany Roberts had another double double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.  

MC won the turnover battle 15-16, but were out-rebounded by the Falcons 41-37.

Next Up

With the loss, the Bulldogs are now 6-4 on the year and 3-3 in KCAC play. They will be back at the Sport Center on Saturday, wrapping up a crazy week with a 3:00 pm matchup with the York College Panthers.
