Box Score Sterling, Kan. – The McPherson College women's basketball team saw their four game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday night, on the road, at the hands of the undefeated Sterling College Warriors.
The Bulldogs started out strong, staying even with the Warriors for much of the opening quarter. The Bulldogs led the Warriors by four midway through the quarter, but the Warriors closed out the period on a 14-1 run to lead 28-19 heading into the second quarter.
From there, the Warriors hit another gear. They leveraged their nine point lead at the end of the first quarter into a 20 halftime lead, 54-34. In the third quarter, the Warriors again outscored the Bulldogs by 10, to lead by 30, 81-51 heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
In the fourth period, the Bulldogs outscored the Warriors 32 to 24, but it was too little too late as the Warriors held on for the victory 105-83.

One of the big differences in the game was the scoring off the bench. The Warriors' bench players came through with 27 points, while the Bulldogs' bench chipped in 16.
By the Numbers
The Bulldogs shot 44% from the floor, making 32 of their 72 attempts.
From three point land, the MC ladies were 8 of 17 for 47%. In the second half, they were 5 of 7.
On the glass, the Warriors outrebounded the Bulldogs 45 to 36.
The Bulldogs also lost the turnover battle, 19 to 15.

Next Up
The Bulldogs, now 15-8 on the season, get some much needed time off before their next game. They will be off until next Wednesday when they host the Southwestern College Moundbuilders at the Sport Center in a 6:00 pm match-up.
