Bulldogs Sweep MVC, Keep Perfect Record Intact

McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College baseball team remained perfect on the season, picking up two more wins out at Bulldog Park, this time against the Missouri Valley College Vikings from Marshall, Missouri.

The Bulldogs belted out 14 hits, leading to 16 runs in the opening game of the double header, doubling up the Vikings who managed to plate 8 runs. In the second game of the series, the Bulldogs scored 12 more runs, and the defense held the Vikings to 9.

The game one win went to Zach Reynolds who came on in relief of starting pitcher Zach Perkins, and threw an inning and two-thirds of work, allowing just one run on zero hits with one strikeout and no walks.

In game two, Tyler Norris got the start, and gave four strong innings. He picked up his first win of the season, allowing three runs on three hits with six strikeouts and no walks

With a 15 to 20 mph wind blowing out to left field, the Bulldogs belted seven home runs in the series with Malik Bond, James Canar, and Hunter Robinson each hitting two.

 Next Up

 The Bulldogs will be back out at Bulldog Park this weekend for a four game series with the Doane University Tigers. The Bulldogs and Tigers are scheduled to play a double header on Saturday and Sunday, stating at 11:00 am both days. However, cooler temps may push the start times back an hour, but that decision hasn't been made yet.
