McPherson, Kan. – After a disappointing day on Saturday against the Morningside College Mustangs, the Bulldogs bounced back on Sunday afternoon with two wins against the Peru State College Bobcats.
The Bulldogs won the series opener 7-6 with Shelby Bonn picking up the win in the circle for the Bulldogs, and Brandy Trengove picking up the save. Bonn came on in relief of Katy Wilson, who got the start, and worked three innings shutting out the Bobcats on one hit with four strikeouts and three walks. The offense in game one went through Trengove and Aubree Beggs, who each had three hits.
In the second game, the Bulldogs had everything working. Trengove picked up where she left off in game one, returning to the circle and pitching a complete game shutout, earning her first win of the year. She gave up just two hits and struck out five in the win. Offensively, Molly Booker led the way going 3 for 4 with a trio of singles and a pair of RBI, including the final run that ended the game in the sixth inning.
