Hillsboro, Kan. – The McPherson College baseball team opened up KCAC play on Tuesday with a statement win. The Bulldogs went on the road and took on the Tabor College Bluejays, doling out a 17-5 shellacking to the KCAC's pre-season number one team.

The Bulldogs spotted the Bluejays four runs, two each in the first two innings. In the top of the third inning, the Bulldogs finally got on the board on a three run home run by Trevor Johnson, the first of six home runs hit by the Bulldogs in the game.

The Bulldogs added four more runs in the fifth inning then broke the game open in the seventh with ten runs on 11 hits. The Bulldogs hit two home runs in the inning (Kris Perez and Noah Nelson), and Johnson and Perez each had two hits in the inning.

With the Bulldogs leading by 12, the game ended after the seventh inning due to the ten run, run rule. Charles Munns, who hadn't made a start since the first weekend of February, was back on the mound. He went the first three and a third innings, allowing four runs on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

Zach Reynolds came on in the fourth inning and worked the final three and two-thirds. He gave up just one unearned run on three hits, and finished with three strikeouts and no walks.
