Sterling, Kan. – The McPherson College baseball team bounced back from a tough weekend, getting back into the win column with a 15-4 victory on the road against Sterling College.
The Bulldogs scored in every inning but one, and put up a crooked number in four of the seven innings played. Charles Munns was the Bulldog starter, going four and a third and picking up the win. He allowed four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
Offensively, the Bulldog scored their 15 runs on nine hits with a third of those going for extra bases. Trevor Johnson and Kyle Lux, the Bulldogs' preseason All-Americans led the Bulldog attack each going 3 for 5, and each with an extra base hit. Lux had a double, a run scored, and two more driven in, while Johnson had six RBI on the day, including two that came on a homerun in the top of the fourth.
Bulldog head coach Bryan Moses commented on the win saying, "Scoring 15 runs with the wind in your face was quite an accomplishment for our offense today. It's a good bounce back win for us."
With the win, the Bulldogs move to 22-5 overall, and 10-5 in KCAC play. They will be back on the diamond this weekend in a three game series out at Bulldog Park against the York College Panthers. The Bulldogs and Panthers will play a single nine on Friday starting at 2:00 pm, and then a doubleheader on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
