The McPherson College volleyball team is back in the KCAC playoffs again this year. By virtue of a 23-8 overall record and a 19-4 mark in conference play, the Bulldogs have locked up the #2 seed in this year's KCAC tournament and earned themselves a first round bye.
The format for this year's tournament is different thanks to COVID-19. Rather than the whole tournament being played in a weekend over at the Hutchinson Sports Arena, this year the four rounds are being spread out over a two week period with the opening round and the Quarterfinals being played at the higher seed's home site. From there, the semi-finals and finals will be played April 9 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
Opening round matches were played this past weekend and the 10th seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles, who the Bulldogs played last week in their final regular season match upset the 7th seeded Sterling College Warriors, and now get a rematch with the Bulldogs in the Quarterfinals. The Bulldogs and Eagles will square off at 7:00 pm this Thursday, April 1, at the Sport Center.
Tickets for the event are on sale from the KCAC and can only be purchased at their website. There will be no tickets available at the door on game day. Capacity at the Sport Center has been set at 226. One-hundred tickets have been set aside for McPherson College students, and 25 have been allocated for the visiting team. The other 201 will be available for the general public, but once they are gone, that is it. General admission tickets can be purchased HERE.
The Eagles will come into Thursday's Quarterfinal match-up with the Bulldogs with an overall record of 19-16. When the two teams met last week in the regular season finale, the Bulldogs swept the Eagles in 25-19, 25-15, 25-15.
