McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College baseball team moved to 14-1 overall, and 4-1 in KCAC play with a 12-11 win on Tuesday over the Sterling College Warriors.
The Bulldogs got off to a hot start, leading 7-1 after the first two innings, but Sterling would answer with two five run innings to take the lead 11-8 after the top of the sixth inning. The Bulldogs then scored a run in each of their final four at bats to walk off with the win.

Three Bulldog pitchers combined to secure the win. Charles Munns got the start, and worked the first two and two-thirds innings. He gave up six runs to the Warriors on six hits with a pair of strikeouts and three walks.  Next up was Zach Reynold, who also went two and two-thirds allowing four runs, three of them earned on three hits with four strikeouts and four walks. The final three and two-thirds went to Jacob Gilcrease who was credited with the win. He gave up just one run on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Offensively the Bulldogs had 17 hits, including seven that went for extra bases. The extra base hits included four doubles, and three home runs. Nine different Bulldogs recorded a hit, and five had multiple hits. James Canar had the hot bat for the Bulldogs, going 5 for 5 with a double, a homerun, and the game winning single in the bottom of the ninth. Besides Canar, Malik Bond, and Trevor Johnson also went deep from the Bulldogs.

"Sterling is tough," said Bulldog head coach Bryan Moses. They are well coached as usual. Putting together a comeback against those guys was not easy. We made mistakes today, we gave up free passes, and we left runners on base. But at the end of the day we have a group that won't quit."

The Bulldogs will be back on the diamond on Thursday, on the road at Ottawa University. They were originally scheduled to play the Braves in a three game series starting on Friday, but the weather forecast for the weekend doesn't look good so they are planning to play a couple of the games on Thursday. Times have yet to be determined.
