Lawrenceville, Ga. - The McPherson Men's Soccer Team stepped on the field this Saturday for the first challenge of their preseason trip to Georgia. After two wins in the first two games of the season, The Bulldogs were looking forward to succeeding against the Grizzles, ranked 16 in the nation. However, they were not as creative and clinical offensively as last game.

The game initially had the Grizzles very aggressive with the ball, while the Bulldogs resisted their initial pressure. After a couple of minutes, the Bulldogs were more comfortable in the game, connecting more passes and building dangerous plays. When the Bulldogs looked settled in the game, the Grizzlies had a controversial Penalty kick call, and they did not waste their chance. The goal conceded did not shake the Bulldogs' confidence. Their press high on the field was causing problems to the Grizzles' defense. The McPherson team finished the half close to an equalizer.

The second half was promising a battle. The Bulldogs were looking for a goal at any cost, and the Grizzlies were trying to keep their advantage. Although the impetus of the end of the first half, The Bulldogs did not have a precise performance offensively in the second half. They had the ball and a lot of intent to create opportunities, but the grizzles improved defensively from the first half and shut the bulldogs down.

Bulldog head coach Doug Quint commented on the final result, "We got tested against a very good side tonight. There were a lot of positives to take away from this match early in the season. I look forward to getting back after it Monday in another tough match-up".

The Bulldogs wrap up their preseason trip on Monday against Tennessee Wesleyan University. The game takes place at Georgia Gwinnett's facilities at 1 p.m.
