McPherson, Kan. – Saturday's men's basketball game between the McPherson College Bulldogs and the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes featured something that rarely happens, the head coaches of both teams missed the game due to illness and their lead assistants coached the game in their stead.
For the Bulldogs, it turned out being a game they would like to forget. They could not get things to click on the offensive end of the floor, while defensively, they couldn't find a way to stop the Coyote offense. The Coyotes opened the game on an 11-2 run, and rode the early momentum to a 19 point halftime lead 45-26.
In the second half the Bulldogs played even with the Coyotes for the first 14 minutes of the new frame. Trailing by the same 19 point deficit with 6:28 remaining, the Coyotes finished the game by outscoring the Bulldogs 19-12 and winning 93-67.
Key Statistic
The Bulldogs had no answer for the Coyotes inside, getting out-scored by the Coyotes 63 to 28 in the paint.
