The Bulldogs got down early in Kansas City as Avila got on the board in just the 4th minute with a goal by Kirryn Killingsworth but they snatched momentum back before halftime with the equalizer from
Caitlin Buendia her 3rd goal of the season. However Avila was able to regain their lead with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation with a goal off a penalty kick by Amaris Sigler. With the loss the Bulldogs fall to 0-5-2 overall 0-2-1 in KCAC play. Avila improved to 2-4-3 and 2-1-0 in the conference.

Mark Olson had this to say about the teams performance "today was a tough game in regards to the result, I thought we played well enough to win the game but failed to have the maturity to get that second goal. I am so happy that
Caitlin Buendia was able to get another goal. She has grown so much as a player since her freshman year lasyt year, it was her third goal of the season and we're looking forward to many more.
