Box Score BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The McPherson College Bulldogs fell to the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles Saturday afternoon (Jan. 21) 82-67 in Bartlesville, Okla.
The Bulldogs shot 49.0 percent (25-for-51) from the field, including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc, but 20 turnovers loomed large.
The Eagles jumped on top early, using a 10-2 burst to grab a 22-14 lead at the end of the first ten minutes.
Layups by Dayjsha Fanning and Summer Kirkman helped trim the Eagles' lead to 28-24 midway through the second frame, but Oklahoma Wesleyan responded again with a 9-2 run to take control heading into the break.
From there, the Eagles pushed the lead to double digits and cruised to the win.
Dy'Mond McElrath paced the Bulldogs (8-12, 5-9 KCAC) with 22 points, tying her career-high set earlier this season. She also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Kirkman added 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Bulldogs are back in the Sports Center on Monday (Jan. 23) to take on the Ottawa Braves. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
