YORK, Neb. — The McPherson College Bulldogs got back in the win column Wednesday (Oct. 18) with a 3-0 sweep over the York University Panthers in York, Neb.
The Bulldogs held York to just two kills in the opening set, while hitting .591 as a team to cruise to a 25-7 win in the opening set. In the set, MC scored 12 of the first 13 points, thanks to four kills by Hadley Waldren.
The Bulldogs opened the second set with a 9-2 burst, led again by Waldren's four kills, before winning 25-9.
The third set was more of the same, as the Bulldogs mounted a huge lead early, scoring 13 of the first 15 points. But this time York answered with an 11-3 run to close the gap to 16-14. However, the Bulldogs offense was too much for the Panthers, powering MC to the 25-21 win.
