McPHERSON, Kan. — Emily Segura scored one goal and assisted on two more Wednesday (Oct. 4) to power the McPherson College Bulldogs to a 3-0 win over the Bethel College Threshers at McPherson Stadium. The win is their second in the last three games.
Olivia Rodriguez put the Bulldogs on top first in the 25th minute, redirecting a cross from Segura and beating Mariah Vallejo for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.
But the Bulldogs didn't stop there, scoring 88 seconds later when Allyson Harrison headed in another cross from Segura to make it a 2-0 Bulldog advantage. Then, Segura found the back of the net herself, rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs.
MC outshot the Threshers 19-15 with a 13-7 advantage on-goal. Rodriguez led the way with four shots, all on-target. Segura added two shots-on-goal, while Harrison and Caitlin Buendia finished with two apiece.
Lauren Kunda picked up her second clean sheet of the season, making seven saves.
The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday (Oct. 7) when they travel to Winfield, Kan. to take on Southwestern. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
