McPHERSON, Kan. — Trailing 1-0 with less than two minutes to play Wednesday night (Oct. 4), Dawson Sawyer fired a shot from 18-yards out past the outstretched arms of Sean Holness to level the score and force a draw with Bethel at McPherson Stadium.
Aleksa Morovic broke a 0-0 gridlock midway through the second half, after the Threshers threatened earlier in the period. Then, a red card from the Threshers in with four minutes remaining opened up the field, setting the stage for the Sawyer goal with 1:22 to go.
Abdul Kanu assisted on the lone Bulldog goal and finished with one shot. Nathan Van Wyck added a team-high five shots, one on-goal. Kyle Barron got the start in goal and made five saves. The Bulldogs defense also came in clutch, stopping a pair of shots off of rebounds.
The Bulldogs hit the road this weekend when they travel to Winfield, Kan. to take on Southwestern at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 7).
