SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The McPherson College Bulldogs dropped a KCAC matchup against Evangel University Saturday (Dec. 2) 81-48 at the Ashcroft Center in Springfield, Mo.
Madelyn Hankins scored 20 points to lead the Bulldogs, while Joze' Baker added eight points and Matisyn Moses finished with seven points.
The Bulldogs shot 32.7 percent (16-for-49) from the field, and were just 4-for-19 from the three-point line. The Valor connected on 40.5 percent of their field goal attempts, including five from distance.
Evangel scored early and often, grabbing an 18-8 lead with just under three minutes to play in the first quarter before leading 24-15 after 10 minutes. From there, the Valor outscored MC 22-7 in the second quarter to push their lead to 46-22 at the break.
The Bulldogs kept it within that range through the third quarter, but another big fourth period for the Valor pushed the lead to as many as 38.
MC is back in action on Wednesday (Dec. 6) for a showdown with Bethany College in Lindsborg. Tipoff is slated for 6:00 p.m.
