STERLINGTON, La. — The McPherson College Bulldogs dropped a pair of games Sunday (Feb. 12) at the Cajun Collision in Sterlington, La., falling to the fourth-ranked LSU-Shreveport Pilots and the Louisiana Christian Wildcats.
In the opener, the Pilots scored one run in the first, two runs in each the second and third, then four more in the fourth to take a 9-0 lead.
Kevinn Castillo put the Bulldogs on the board in the fifth with the first home run of the season, then doubled down the left field line, bringing home Caleb Feuerstake.
Game two started similarly to the first, with the Wildcats grabbing an early lead with three runs in the second inning and five in the third.
The Bulldogs put up two in the bottom of the third frame, getting runs from Gage Ninness and Feuerstake.
But the Wildcats scored five unanswered to cruise to the win.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday (Feb. 17) for a four-game series against Wayland Baptist in Plainview, Texas.
