Wichita, Kan. — The McPherson College men's and women's Track and Field teams wrapped up their indoor season this past weekend at the KCAC Championship at Wichita state indoor faculty. The Bulldog women finished in 9th place, scoring 20 points, and the men finished in 10th place with 14 points.
The women scored points in six different events, including the 4x800m relay, distance medley relay (DMR), 800m, 5,000m, and 3,000m. The men scored points in four different events, which were 4x800m relay, DMR, 5,000m, and mile.
On the women's side, the top finisher was Bailey Hartley, who finished second in the pole vault with a height of 3.12m.
The top finisher on the men's side was the distance medley relay (DMR) placing second. The relay consisted of Wyatt Allen, Cody Kuss, Paul Choi, and Brock Lauer.
The champions of character winners for the Bulldogs were Georgia Hitchcock and Parker Roberts.
Head Coach Chad Clevenger summed up the conference championship by saying" When you can take a team to a meet and have 24 seasons best performances at the Championship meet, it's a great meet. I'm thrilled at the efforts we gave, and the competitiveness we showed. Bailey Hartley really got us off to a great start finishing 2nd in the Pole Vault, and the team followed with a high quality weekend, finishing off with an exciting Distance Medley Relay taking 2nd. I also want to comment on the meet Brock Lauer had this weekend. It's tough to score in the distance events in the KCAC, and to see Brock score in 3 of them (5000, Mile, DMR) was quite the performance. Really looking forward to this coming outdoor season as we continue to progress!"
