NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — The Bethel College Threshers scored 50 second-half points Saturday (Feb. 18) to take down the McPherson College Bulldogs in the regular-season finale in North Newton, Kan.
The Bulldogs started hot, scoring the first seven points and 11 of the first 13 points of the ballgame, but the Threshers stormed back with an 8-0 run of their own.
Later in the half, Charles Snyder drilled a three from the top of the key, then a tip-in layup by Antonio Watson helped push the Bulldogs' lead to 23-14 with just over four minutes left in the opening frame.
The Bulldogs would hold a 25-20 advantage at the break, but ten straight points for the Threshers would give them a lead they would never relinquish.
Owen Braxmeyer paced the Bulldogs with 16 points, while Charles Snyder added 12 points and ten rebounds to notch his first career double-double. Watson finished with 11 points, all of which came in the first half.
The Bulldogs' season comes to an end with a 13-15 record and an 8-14 mark in conference play.
