STERLING, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs season came to an end Thursday (Feb. 23) in the quarterfinal round of the KCAC Tournament, falling to the top-seeded Sterling College Warriors at the Gleason Center in Sterling, Kan.
Matisyn Moses came out on fire in the early going, scoring seven of the Bulldog's first ten points to force a Sterling timeout.
But turnovers plagued the Bulldogs, allowing Sterling to claw their way back to take a 19-18 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
The Warriors showed why they are ranked 20th in the nation, opening the second ten minutes on an 8-0 run before growing the lead to 40-25 at the break.
From there, Sterling never looked back, ballooning the lead to 31 after three quarters to cruise to the win.
Moses and Summer Kirkman led the way for the Bulldogs, each scoring 11 points, with Kirkman pulling down three rebounds.
The Bulldogs close out an up-and-down season with an 11-18 record in Josh Nichols's fifth season at the helm and an 8-14 mark in KCAC play.
