McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs exploded for eight home runs to erase an 8-2 deficit and complete the season sweep of the Southwestern College Moundbuilders with a 16-11 win at Bulldog Park.
Trailing 11-5 heading into the bottom of the fifth, James Canar launched his first home run of the season, bringing in JT Edmunds. Then the next at-bat, Hunter Robinson sent a solo shot over the outfield wall to trim it to a three-run deficit.
But the Bulldogs weren't done yet, as a homer by Caleb Feuerstake, his first of two, followed by an RBI double to left-center field pulled them within 11-10.
Then, four of the next five batters homered in the bottom of the sixth. Kevinn Castillo started it off with a three-run blast, then solo shots by Dylan Hampton, Gage Ninness, and Feuerstake finished off the scoring.
The Bulldogs scored 16 runs on a season-high 21 hits, led by Ninness with four hits and Feuerstake with three hits.
The Bulldogs remain at home on Tuesday (Mar. 7) for a midweek game against Sterling. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
