McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs battled the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes Wednesday night (Sep. 20), but fell 3-1 at Paul Family Field at McPherson Stadium.
The Coyotes took a 2-0 lead into halftime, scoring a pair of goals in the 24th minute and the 27th minute.
Diego Santibanez netted his fifth career goal to cut into the Coyote lead when he headed in a cross from Oliver Danzer in the 64th minute.
However, from there Jesus Moreno pushed the lead to 3-1 with his second tally of the contest.
The Coyotes finished with 22 shots, nine on-goal, while the Bulldogs had nine shots, but just three scoring chances. Camden Wiseman made six saves for the Bulldogs.
MC will be on the road Friday (Sep. 22) when they travel to Bartlesville, Okla., to take on the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
