STERLING, Kan. — The Sterling College Warriors finished with 15 shots-on-goal en route to a 5-2 win over the McPherson College Bulldogs Wednesday (Sep. 27) in Sterling, Kan.
The Warriors mounted a 4-0 lead with two goals in the first half, then a pair of goals in the first seven minutes of the second frame.
Anthony Pereira put the Bulldogs on the board with a goal in the 72nd minute, then Nathan Van Wyck cut the lead in half with a goal in the 81st minute, assisted by Eric Mendoza.
However, the Warriors added to their total with a goal by Juan Sepulveda with just 4:12 remaining in the contest.
Camden Wiseman made seven saves for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs return home Saturday (Sep. 27) to take on Friends at McPherson Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
