WACO, Texas — For the second consecutive season, Nehemiah Figueroa has been named a 2024 AFCA NAIA All-American, though this season he was a first team selection, the American Football Coaches Association announced Wednesday morning (Dec. 11).
"We're very proud of this accomplishment for Nehemiah," head coach Jeremiah Fiscus said. "He has stayed the course, put in the work, believed in the daily process, and those things put him in the position to achieve at the highest individual level in his time at McPherson College."
A second teamer in 2023, Figueroa led the team with five interceptions, three pass breakups, and 57 total tackles, which ranked second for the Bulldogs. Figueroa's five picks were tied for seventh most in the NAIA and tied for second most in the KCAC.
Three of Figueroa's interceptions came in the Bulldogs shootout win over Sterling College in week two, returning one for a touchdown to earn him NAIA Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career.
The decorated Boyertown, Pa. native was also a First Team All-KCAC selection for the second straight year. Figueroa finishes his career at McPherson College with 12 interceptions, two touchdowns, two fumble recoveries, and 113 total tackles.
