LINDSBORG, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs fell in a pair of 1-0 games Wednesday (Apr. 17) on the road at the Bethany College Swedes in Lindsborg, Kan. With the loss, the Bulldogs have lost eight straight contests.
GAME ONE – Bethany 1, McPherson 0
In her first start back from injury, Jordyn Johnson held the Swedes to just two hits and one run, while striking out three batters.
The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the fourth inning when Ulissa Riva doubled to left field, bringing Tamia Butler around to score.
MC were held to just three hits, led by Tatyana Alvarado with two hits.
GAME TWO – Bethany 1, McPherson 0
In the nightcap, Alivia Lange finished with two hits to lead the Bulldogs, who once again were held to just three hits.
Samantha Hollingsworth threw six innings for the Bulldogs, allowing just one run on six hits with two strikeouts.
The Swedes took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth when Butler drove in Destiny Espinosa on an RBI single.
The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday (Apr. 20) for Senior Day against the Friends University Falcons at Bulldog Park. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
