Bulldogs Fall on the Road to No. 8 Oklahoma Wesleyan 3-0

Bartlesville, Okla. – The Bulldogs hit the road on Friday night for their toughest test yet, taking on No. 8 Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The Bulldogs aimed to make it three straight wins, while the Eagles looked to extend their unbeaten streak to 11 straight matches.

How it Happened
Oklahoma Wesleyan came out firing, recording nine shots in the opening 19 minutes and forcing three early saves from goalkeeper Emily Singletary. The pressure paid off in the 18th minute when Kylie Reif slotted home a rebound off the right post to put the Eagles in front 1-0. The hosts doubled their lead in the 34th minute as Tessa Edwards buried a long-range strike into the upper left corner to double the lead at 2-0.
 
The Eagles continued to control possession early in the second half, firing four shots within the first five minutes. Allyson Harrison received the first and only booking of the game, receiving a yellow card in the 52nd minute. McPherson's best chance came in the 61st minute when Ayden Jones intercepted a pass from an Eagles defender and sent a shot on target, but the Oklahoma Wesleyan keeper was there for the save. Reif added her second goal of the match in the 69th minute, heading home a cross to complete the win for the Eagles.

McPherson will travel to North Newton, Kansas for a mid-week clash with Bethel College on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM.
