York, Neb. – McPherson College was on the road on Wednesday night for a match up with the York University Panthers. The Bulldogs strolled into the matchup riding a 23-game win streak, while the Panthers looked to bounce back after a loss to Saint Mary on Saturday.

How it Happened
The Bulldogs opened the first set trailing the Panthers 5-3 before rallying to even the score at 5-5. From there the teams traded points before until York pulled ahead by three. McPherson once again fought back, tying the set at 13-13 and forcing a Panthers timeout. Out of the break, the Bulldogs caught fire with a 7-0 run, highlighted by a pair of blocks and a kill from
Katie Warden, to take a 20-13 lead. McPherson carried the momentum to the finish, claiming five of the final six points to win 25-15 and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
McPherson continued to roll in the second, jumping out to a commanding 7-1 advantage. York was unable to close the gap as the Bulldogs continued to control the pace, eventually stretching the lead to 20-9. The Bulldogs' front-line dominance sealed the set, with a kill form

Enya Fierens and
Roxana Varela Parra closing it out 25-11.
The Bulldogs dominance continued in the third set, as they surged ahead 8-2 early. McPherson maintained pressure on both ends, extending their lead to 15 and forcing York to burn both timeouts.
Tabor Scanlon capped off the sweep with a service ace, punctuating a commanding performance as McPherson secured the 3-0 victory.
Warden led the way for McPherson at the net with 12 kills and four blocks, while the service line was controlled by
Brooke McHale and
Anna Howard, who each recorded three aces.
