Lindsborg, Kansas – McPherson traveled to Bethany College on Wednesday night to face the Swedes. Bethany entered the matchup still searching for its first conference win, while the Bulldogs looked to remain unbeaten in KCAC play and extend their win streak to 18.

How it Happened
Katie Warden struck first for the Bulldogs with a kill to the opposite side, though Bethany quickly evened the score at 1-1. McPherson responded with four straight kills to spark a 5-1 lead and force an early Swedes timeout. Out of the break, the Bulldogs extended the advantage to 7-1 and never looked back, closing the set on a 5-0 run to seal a 25-14 victory.
The second set started in similar fashion, with the Bulldogs taking the opening point before Bethany rallied for an 8-7 lead. McPherson regained control behind two kills from
Kaylee Stegora and a service ace from
Roxana Varela Parra. From there, kills by
Enya Fierens and
Brooke McHale helped the Bulldogs build a cushion at 17-13. Bethany hung around late, but McPherson held strong to earn a 25-21 win and a 2-0 match lead.
McPherson came out firing in set three, jumping ahead 6-1 to prompt another early Swedes timeout. The Bulldogs kept the pressure on, stretching the lead to nine before finishing strong with seven of the final nine points to take the set 25-17 and secure the sweep.
Fierens led the Bulldogs at the net with 13 kills and three blocks, while
Celestina Retumban anchored the back row with a match-high 27 digs.
