How it Happened
Friends came out strong to open the match, firing off two early shots before Paige Putter found the back of the net in the 14
th minute to give the Falcons a 1-0. The pressure continued throughout the first half, with goalkeeper
Emily Singletary making a pair of key saves to keep the Bulldogs within striking distance heading into the halftime break.
The Falcons doubled their advantage just five minutes into the second half, as Kieley Aranda capitalized on another scoring chance to make it 2-0. Singletary recorded McPherson's first shot on goal, sending a free kick on target that forced the Friends keeper into action.
Midway through the half, a hard challenge in the box by
Allyson Harrison led to a yellow card and a Falcons penalty kick. Singletary came up big once again, diving the right way to deny Pilar Flores from the spot and keep the Bulldogs in the game. However, the Falcons sealed the win in the 72
nd minute when Mackenzie Cunningham finished off a cross from Elisa Murrieta to make it 3-0.
The Bulldogs were unable to find a response, falling 3-0 to the Falcons in their season finale.
