ST. LOUIS, Mo.- The McPherson College women's tennis team lost a 5-0 decision to the University of Missouri – St. Louis Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs are now 7-3 on the season.
In doubles action,
Alexandria Garcia lost a 6-2 contest at the top spot. Second-seeded
Bella Ellerbee and
Pia Hinricher dropped a 6-1 contest at the No. 2 slot.
Ava Bolin and
Laureen Van Drunen, seeing time at the No. 3 position, also fell by a 6-1 score as the home team secured the doubles point.
Hinricher lost a 6-1, 6-1 match at the No. 4 spot in singles action. Hofer put forth a valiant effort, but still lost a 6-4, 6-1 match at the No. 2 spot.
Van Drunen pushed her foe, but dropped a 6-3, 6-2 match at the No. 3 position.
Seeing time at the No. 6 slot,
Maddie Dobson fell by a 6-1, 6-1 count.
Garcia, playing at No. 1 and Ellerbee, playing at No. 5, did not finish their matches once the home team secured the win.
The Bulldogs return to action Monday when they play at Campbellsville at 1 p.m.
