MCPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson College men's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over Kansas Wesleyan Monday afternoon in a KCAC match.
The Bulldogs are now 8-6 overall, including 2-0 in league play.
Head coach
Craig Holman's team jumped out to a 1-0 lead by sweeping doubles action.
Oscar Brouwer and
Celien Botlan combined for a 6-2 victory at the top spot.
Texas Ranger Schmidt and
Jayson Wasserfuhr notched a 6-3 victory at the number three slot, securing the win. The tandem of
Arthur Nardy and
Simon Delgadillo needed a bit more time but still notched a 7-6 (7-4) win at the number two position.
In singles action, Nardy accounted for a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the number one spot. Second-seeded Brouwer needed little time to knock off his foe, 6-1, 6-0, at the number two slot. Botlan, playing at the number three position, secured a 6-0, 6-2 victory. Delgadillo, playing at the No. 5 spot, garnered a 6-0, 6-2 win over his foe.
Balazs Temesvari swept his opponent by a convincing 6-0, 6-0 score at the number six slot.
The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday when they host Bethany College at 3 p.m.
