McPherson, Kan. – For the 2024-2025 seasons, McPherson College Athletics has been honored with the NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Gold Award, announced by the national office. The honor of "Gold" is the highest distinction in the NAIA's program, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) was also recognized for the award as a Champions of Character Five-Star Conference.
Institutions that qualify for the award are measured by their commitment to Champions of Character, their conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion; all of which McPherson College has demonstrated over the last year. In the NAIA's points system, schools can earn their points with great student-athlete GPA's and having very few ejections from matches, games, and meets throughout the athletic and academic calendar.
The Bulldogs have earned enough points this past season to be recognized with the award's highest honor, and will look to make this award an annual tradition.
