McPherson, Kan. – McPherson made a statement in the Lone Star State, going a perfect 4-0 at the Texas Two Step Tournament, capped off with three straight sweeps.
Friday August 29th
Score: Lindsey Wilson 2, McPherson 3
The Bulldogs opened the Texas Two Step Tournament with a five-set thriller win against the Blue Raiders. McPherson lost set one to Lindsey Wilson, before going on to win the next two. The Blue Raiders forced a decisive fifth, but the Bulldogs held their ground, edging out a nail-biting 16-14 victory.
Brooke McHale powered the offense with a career high 19 kills, while
Roxana Varela Parra recorded a career high 45 assists.

McPherson took control early, cruising to a 25-17 first set victory and building a double-digit lead along the way. The Lady Lions battled to keep the next two sets close, but despite the effort the Bulldogs closed the door 25-21 and 25-22 to complete the sweep. McPherson's attack put up big numbers, 46 kills and a .359 hitting percentage, led by
Katie Warden's 13 kills.
Saturday August 30th
Score: McPherson 3, Texas Wesleyan 0
To open day two, the Bulldogs took on hosts Texas Wesleyan, winning in straight sets.
Enya Fierens took over the net, recording one solo block and six block assists, for a career high seven total blocks.
Tabor Scanlon got it done from the service line with three aces and no service errors.

Closing out the tournament, McPherson squared off against Texas A&M-Texarkana. The Bulldogs opened with a dominate first set, racking up 16 kills and a .536 hitting percentage. Texarkana pushed in set two, but McPherson was able to hold strong to secure their third straight sweep.
Brooke McHale closed the tournament with 17 kills, finishing the weekend with an impressive 60.
Enya Fierens was once again a presence at the net with three blocks and seven kills.

The Bulldogs head back home to host the McPherson Volleyball Invitational at Holman Fieldhouse September 4-6. McPherson opens the Invitational on Thursday night against Central Methodist University. First serve is set for 7:00pm.
