McPherson, Kan. – After three straight road games, the Bulldogs were finally back at the Holman Fieldhouse for a home KCAC matchup, taking on the Bethel College Threshers. McPherson headed into the contest looking for their fourth conference win, while Bethel aimed to make it four straight victories.

How it Happened
The Bulldogs struggled to find any rhythm early; they were unable to convert a single shot from the field in the opening quarter. Their five points in the frame all came from the free-throw line where they went 5 for 8. Meanwhile, the Threshers came out firing with a 52% clip from the field and knocking down two three-pointers on their way to a 28-point first quarter.
Maizen Gillam finally broke through with the Bulldogs' first field goal at the 8:14 mark of the second quarter, drilling a jumper.
Mikah Hammerquist followed with two straight three pointers to give McPherson 13 points. Bethel carried a commanding 52-19 lead into the halftime break.
Bethel wasted no time coming out of the halftime break, scoring five quick points to push its lead to 38. The Threshers remained red-hot in the third quarter, shooting an impressive 71% from the field and pouring in a game high 29 points in the frame. McPherson continued to struggle offensively, connecting on just three buckets from the floor in the quarter. The Bulldogs entered the final period facing a 55-point deficit.
The Threshers maintained control down the stretch, building their lead to as much as 70 points.
Laderricka Payne closed the scoring for McPherson, knocking down the final four points of the game to trim the deficit to 66. Hammerquist led McPherson offensively with 11 points, while Gillam followed with eight.

McPherson will be back on the road on Wednesday night for a match up with the Bluejays of Tabor College. Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM at Tabor Gymnasium.
