Another Record-Breaking Performance for McPherson at the Cougar Classic

Columbia, Mo. – The Bulldogs travelled to Columbia College on Saturday to take part in the Cougar Classic, where they placed second out of four teams in the All-Girl Division and sixth out of the ten teams competing in the overall competition.

McPherson scored 78.72, 8.2 points ahead of third place Columbia College who scored a 70.52. This score set the program record for McPherson Cheer, breaking their previous best score of 77.5 that was set at the Coyote Classic earlier this season.

Listed below are the categorical scores from the judges on McPherson's performance:

Building Score – 26.2/40
Tumbling Score – 25.9/30
Overall Routine – 17.9/20
Overall Effect – 9.47/10

Head Coach Toni Snyder was proud of the improvement he saw from his group, but says there is still work to do.

"With our new routine, we saw a lot of improvement from our previous two performances," Snyder said. "We successfully broke the school record and hit a cleaner routine, but we had bobbles in a few areas - especially with our full group stunts. I'm extremely proud of our two-man group in the routine. "

McPherson's next competition will be at home as they host the Dog House Classic on March 7th at the Holman Fieldhouse.
