How it Happened
In the doubles matches, the Owls had dropped just four games out of the 18 total played. Arthur Nardy and newcomer Hamish Wyatt managed to pick up a game on the #1 Doubles court but would fall to Duarte Melo and Noah Burton 6-1. In #2 Doubles, Tobias Hajek and Cole Horton of William Woods cruised to a 6-0 victory over Bruno Barrientos Molina and Jayson Wasserfuhr. Davian Spies and Balazs Temesvari put up a fight with three games won in the #3 Doubles match, but would fall to Bruno Matta and Jesper Seger 6-3.

Nardy would face Duarte Melo in the #1 Singles match after the Owls had taken the doubles point for the 1-0 advantage. Despite some excellent play from Nardy, Melo took the 2-0 victory (6-4, 6-3). Wasserfuhr won the only set of the day for the Bulldogs in the #2 Singles match as he won the first set 6-4 over Horton. Horton would go on to win the next two sets (6-3, 6-2) for the 2-1 victory.

Noah Burton took the #3 Singles match 2-0 over Barrientos Molina; it was a close 7-5 set two tiebreak that ended the match. Thomas Geukemeijer defeated McPherson's Hamish Wyatt in the #4 Singles match in two sets. Balazs Temesvari and Davian Spies both lost in the #5 and #6 singles. William Woods walked out of the Bulldog Tennis Center with the 7-0 victory over McPherson.

"Our young team showed a lot of grit today against a quality, veteran team," said Interim Head Coach Craig Holman. "Today we started three freshmen, two sophomores and a senior.  I was particularly happy today with Jayson Wasserfuhr's match management and fight against a tough player."
