Seward, Neb. – The McPherson College Men's and Women's Tennis teams traveled to Nebraska to square off against the Concordia University Bulldogs on Friday, and the Warriors of Midland University on Saturday. The women were able to capture their first two wins this spring, while the men went 1-1 on the road trip.
Friday, February 27th vs. Concordia University
Women's Tennis opened their match securing the doubles point after wins from
Vanessa Hofer and
Laureen Van Drunen in the #2 Doubles and
Maria Luisa de Lama and
Eva Lesteluhu in the #3 Doubles.
The Bulldogs went on to win the match, scoring four more points with singles wins from
Taimi Nashiku,
Bella Ellerbee, Hofer, and Van Drunen.
The Men's team wouldn't find the same result, dropping the doubles point, which would end up being the tie-breaker as both teams recorded three singles points. McPherson tallied points from Nardy,
Hamish Wyatt, and Texas Ranger Smith before falling to Concordia 4-3.
Saturday, February 28th vs. Midland University
The Bulldogs continued to find success on the women's side in their second match of the road trip, this time against Midland. McPherson swept the doubles matches before continuing their dominant play in the singles matchups, winning all six to secure a 7-0 victory.
Men's Tennis found a different result in their matchup against Midland, opening the match by sweeping the doubles matchups to go up 1-0. The Bulldogs went on to win four of the six singles matchups to take a 5-2 win over the Warriors.

McPherson will be at home for the first time this spring as both the Men's and Women's teams host Barton County Community College on Saturday. First serve is set for 1:00 PM.
