Kansas City, Mo. – The McPherson Bulldogs Women's Soccer team opened their 2026 season with a dominant 8-0 win at Spurgeon on Friday afternoon. This was only the third meeting between the two teams in program history, with McPherson staying undefeated in the series with a 3-0-0 record.

How it Happened
McPherson kicked things off early, with
Jordyn Smith scoring the first goal in the 14
th minute with an assist from
Gracie Speltz.
Madilyn Reser found the back of the net in the 38
th minute for the Bulldogs' second goal of the match. McPherson scored their third just seconds before halftime, with Speltz recording her second assist and finding
Alyssa Hill for the score.
The Bulldogs didn't lose momentum after halftime, with
Baylee Simmelink finding the back of the net just four minutes into the second half for her first of two goals on the day. In the 56
th minute,
Alexis Lutz scored to make the score 5-0. Simmelink scored her second goal just three minutes later with an assist from Hill. Speltz scored a goal of her own in the 71
st minute to go up 7-0.
Shelby Pronk finished things off for the Bulldogs with a goal in the 82
nd minute.
