Chris Dawson is entering his fourth season as the Head Coach of the McPherson College Baseball program

Coaching Highlights
In 2026, the Bulldogs improved their win total to 28 wins and 22 wins in conference. They also had 9 All-Conference selections (Program Record) including, Kadin Gehring, Marcus Patton, and Connor Baker who were awarded 1^st team All-Conference.

During Dawson’s time at McPherson, the Bulldogs have made 2 NAIA Opening Round appearances (2021/2022) and have been ranked in the NAIA top 25 multiple times with a program high ranking of 13th coming in the Spring of 2022. Coach Dawson has also coached multiple All-Conference athletes including two NAIA All-Americans (Trevor Johnson / James Canar).

Prior to his arrival in McPherson, Coach Dawson was the head coach at Southwestern College (NAIA/KCAC) for the 2022-2023 school year. Dawson has also had coaching stints at Central Christian College (NAIA/SAC), Hawaii Pacific University (NCAA D2), and Hesston College (NJCAA). Dawson has overseen the development of hitters, infielders, and been the base running coach during his coaching career.
