Vic Redd enters his first season as the McPherson defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator in 2018.

Redd comes to McPherson after spending four seasons (2014-17) as an assistant at Southwestern (Kan.). He was the defensive backs coach for three seasons (2015-17) and special teams coordinator in 2016 after spending 2014 coaching wide receivers. Under Redd, the Moundbuilders ranked ninth in the NAIA in pass defense and 10th in total defense in 2015 and 26th nationally in pass defense in 2016.

Before joining Southwestern, Redd spent the 2013 campaign as a slot receivers coach, strength and conditioning coach and video coordinator at Mayville State (N.D.). 

Redd has been a member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) since 2014 and holds an AFCA Professional Development Series Certification.

Redd spent four seasons (2008-11) as a wide receiver at Mayville State.  

Redd earned a Bachelor of Science in fitness and wellness with a minor in coaching from Mayville State in 2012 and is pursuing a a Master of Art in teaching from Southwestern.
