Doug Quint

Doug Quint enters his 19thseason as the McPherson head men's soccer coach in 2021. Quint's school and career record entering the campaign is 193-129-26, ranking him 24th nationally on the winningest active coaches list.

Under Quint, the Bulldogs are 39-14-4 in KCAC matches in the last five seasons and 73-25-5 in the last 10.

In 2020, Quint guided the Bulldogs to a 12-5-4 overall record, including a 8-2-1 mark in the KCAC, good for a tie for second in the league standings. McPherson reached the KCAC Tournament championship game after a three year hiatus. They advanced to the NAIA Opening Round for the first time since 2014, falling to nationally ranked Bellevue. Eight Bulldogs were named to the All-KCAC first team, one to the second team and four honorable mention. McPherson also produced two NAIA All-American Honorable Mention selections.  

Off the field, one player was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® College Division Men's Soccer first team for Division 3 and Academic All-America® College Division Men's Soccer second team. Two players were voted Daktonics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Thirteen Bulldogs were tabbed KCAC Scholar-Athletes. 

In 2014, Quint guided the program to its third conference championship and its second appearance in the NAIA National Championships. Quint is an alumnus of Bethel College and has served the entirety of his professional coaching career in Kansas.

The 2014 season marked the Bulldogs second trip to the NAIA National Tournament, winning both the KCAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, after finishing 14-4-2 (8-0-1). The Bulldogs finished the year ranked #22 in the NAIA and NSCAA National Polls. Numerous individuals were recognized after the season. Oscar Cortez headlined the group being recognized as the KCAC MVP, NSCAA First Team All-Region and an NAIA All-American. Quint also was named the KCAC Coach of the Year. The Bulldogs also finished with the NSCAA Team Academic award achieving the fifth highest grade point average (3.41) as a team in the country.

In 2003, Quint was tapped to resurrect the McPherson men's and women's programs after a two-year hiatus. He was quickly able to raise both programs to contender status within the KCAC. In just four years, Quint led the Bulldog women to conference and regional championships. He also mentored McPherson College’s first NAIA All-American in Victoria Salas. His 2007 women’s team is still considered the best women’s team to ever take the field. With mostly freshman, the team finished 13-6-1 overall losing in the penalty’s in the conference championships.

Quint stepped down as the women’s coach at the end of the 2007 season and transitioned into the role of Athletic Director, until the winter of 2014. In the spring of 2015, McPherson College transitioned Quint back into the role of Head Soccer Coach for both programs.
Prior to Quint’s arrival at McPherson, he was the boys' soccer coach at Hutchinson High School (2000-2002). During that time, his Salthawk teams were a force in the state of Kansas. In three years, his teams won two league championships, two regional championships and made two consecutive appearance in the 6A State Championships. He also was instrumental in building the city's first soccer complex with his father, while directing Club Azzurri and the Hutchinson Youth Soccer Association. Quint also served on staff for Kansas Olympic Development.
Quint holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma and multiple USSF Licenses.

Doug and his wife, Jenny, have two sons and a daughter - Kaden, Sydney and Devin.
