Tony Saldivar

Tony Saldivar starts his first year with the Bulldogs after spending one year at Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) in San Antonio, Texas where he helped lead the Saints to a 14-21 record adding Two All-Conference Players by end of the season. Prior to OLLU he spent four years at Texas Southern University, where he was an assistant coach. While at Texas Southern, the Lady Tigers appeared in three Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) tournaments and two SWAC championships, winning one in 2017, while adding a total of 16 Players to First Team All-Conference, Seven Players to Second Team All-Conference and three Pitchers of the Year during his tenure. The team qualified for the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2017 and faced both Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Austin.

Saldivar moved to Houston in 2007, where he began coaching with the TX Lite 18U Organization. While there, he helped coach the team for five years prior to joining the Impact Gold Organization in 2012 to be part of the Impact Gold 18U expansion team.

Saldivar is a retired veteran with 22 years of U.S. Navy service. During his military career, he was the head coach for the All-Navy Women’s Softball Team from 2000-2003. While there, 11 U.S. Navy women moved on to represent the U.S. Armed Forces Women’s Softball team to compete against the Top 20 nationals teams in the 19/Over Open Division for the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) National Tournament.

Saldivar is a native of San Antonio, where he attended Oliver Wendell Holmes High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
