Gordon Reimer Headshot

Gordon Reimer

Gordon Reimer joined the Bulldog athletic department in 2013 as the head women's basketball coach.  He came to McPherson with two Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference titles under his belt.

Coach Reimer has gone 40-82 over his first four seasons but brings back a wealth of experience for the 2016-17 season after losing no players to graduation.

Reimer has over 10 years of collegiate coaching experience.  Prior to MC, he was the head coach for the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes.  From 2004 through 2012 he accumulated two KCAC regular season and two tournament championships coming in 2009 and 2011.  Reimer also took the Lady Coyotes to three consecutive National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National tournaments.  He amassed 140 wins in his tenure at Kansas Wesleyan becoming the winningest coach in KWU women’s basketball history; Reimer also saw his teams set 19 school records while garnering 11 NAIA Academic All-Americans.

“I have always felt basketball is a game that should be fun to watch, play and coach,” said Reimer.  “I want my team to enjoy competing, have fun improving and be excited about winning.  I also want my players to understand the importance of education.  They should be here to gain knowledge, experience diversity and become independent thinkers while learning to work together.  My hope is basketball will assist this development.”

Prior to his arrival to Kansas Wesleyan, Reimer was the women’s basketball assistant for McPherson College for one season; he also served as a business instructor for the college.

Central Christian College was where Reimer got his coaching start as he was the head volleyball coach and assistant women’s basketball coach for the Lady Tigers from 2000 through 2003.

Reimer owns a masters degree in Business Administration that he earned from Baker University and currently resides in McPherson with his wife Pat.
