Tyler Tobias will be entering his first season as the Corners Coach for McPherson College.
Coaching Highlights
Ty comes to McPherson College after a role as the Assistant Defensive Backs Coach, coaching primarily cornerbacks at Catholic University of America. Before that he was the Defensive Back Coach, Pass Game Coordinator, and Special Teams Coordinator at Potomac High from 2021-2024. While there, he helped develop six all-county defensive backs and two all-state defensive back.
Playing Highlights
Tobias graduated from the University at Albany in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics before playing his final season at LIU. At Albany, Tobias was a three-year starter, appearing in 27 games. He recorded 38 tackles, 16 PBUs, and one sack. In his true freshman season, he helped UAlbany to a top 10 scoring defense, ranking 8th in the FCS. During his senior campaign at Albany, he helped the defense rank 2nd in the CAA in third-down efficiency. Allowing opponents to convert just 31.1% of third downs. Also finished with a historic run being ranked Top 25 multiple times throughout the year, with a 9-5 record, reaching the second round of the FCS playoffs. In his final season at LIU, he appeared in five games, making 16 tackles and breaking up eight passes.
